Reasons to Rent a Faux Cake
1. A faux cake can save you hundreds of dollars. If you’ve always wanted a big cake but are inviting only a hand full of people OR have a large guest list, you can afford your dream wedding cake by renting one from me at a fraction of the cost.
a. Decorators price cakes by the serving. A cake to feed 100 at $5 a slice is $500. You can rent a three tier cake for as low as $150. That’s a savings of $350.
2. You get to see exactly what your cake will look like before the big day. There are no surprises because the decorator didn’t understand your vision, so changes can be made. After your cake is done, I will send you a picture of it or you can visit it in person to make sure it’s exactly what you want.
3. Faux cakes still allow you to have a traditional cake cutting ceremony, but you have options. Pay an additional fee of $75 to have a small section of the bottom tier replaced with real cake (vanilla cake with vanilla butter cream). You will be able to cut through it, pull cake out, and serve it to one another. The other option is to have a slice of cake behind the 100% faux cake to feed one another after you pose for cake cutting pictures.
4. Faux cakes are visually identical to real cakes. They are still covered in real fondant icing and are decorated with edible items; just like a real cake.
5. You’ll never have to worry about a melting cake. Florida’s weather can be temperamental, and cakes don’t like to be in the sun or humidity. Now you’re outdoor wedding cake can hold up to the elements, and the inevitable flying critters in the air are not a problem.
6. Some brides hate to see the cake cut because it’s a piece of art. Now the cake can be left out during the entire reception if you want it to.
7. You can have even more outrageous decorations for a lot less. Sugar beads, gumpaste flowers, hand molded lace…the sky is now the limit for the design. You don’t have to pay an arm and a leg because the cake is coming back to us.
8. You can offer a wider variety of cake flavors for your guests. A cake to feed 100 is usually 3 tiers with 3 flavors only. Why not order 5 different cakes that feed 20 each to be cut behind the scenes for everyone to enjoy? See my cake serving charts that caterers use. Don’t let the supermarkets make you order more cake than what’s really needed.
9. If you decide to create your own faux cake, it will be named after you in our portfolio.
10. Delivery is a breeze and so is returning it. If you decide to opt out of us picking up the faux cake, you can return it to us. The cake is light weight and will come with a box for you to safely store it until you can get it to us. Remember the decorations are fragile and should be handled as if it was a real cake.
11. Some couples don’t like cake and want to have a candy or dessert bar. No problem! Get creative and order your favorite pies and cookies from the local supermarket, have a sundae station, or have your Grandmother make her famous brownies. Make sure you check with the venue about using home-baked goods. Some won’t allow it for health reasons.
12. Ever been to a wedding when there was so much cake leftover? What a waste! Now it’s ok to have a five-tier cake when you’re only having 80 guests.
13. If choosing a cake from our gallery, simply contact me via email or phone, and we’ll take care of everything. If you would rather design your rental cake, we can meet at the Starbucks on Cortez Rd and SR 41 next to Verizon, or Cortez and 75th St in NW Bradenton.
14. Some venues charge a cake cutting fee. Now you can have a traditional cake and save more money.
15. Want to keep the cake for whatever reason? Now you can. For an additional charge, the faux cake is yours.
16. Your guests will not be the wiser that you have a faux cake. It’s still covered in fondant and other edible decorations. Unless you want to brag about how much money you saved to spend on your honeymoon, only you will know it’s not real.
